It is with deeply broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Blair Joseph Capstick on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at home.
He was the son of the late Blair Joseph Capstick and Patricia (Donovan).
Blair lost his parents, and his baby sister Lisa 32 years ago in a motor vehicle accident. Blair was truly blessed to have been raised by Elizabeth MacKinnon and Cecil (Linda) Capstick.
Blair has left behind to mourn, his siblings, April, Cole, and Ashley (Randall), his much beloved niece, Skye and nephew, Aiden. Blair had a special light in his eyes when he was with his niece and nephew, they truly brought out his gentle smile. Blair also leaves to mourn, his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Blair was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Christina and Cecil Capstick and maternal grandparents, William and Florence Donovan.
Blair was known for his uplifting spirit, his smile, and his willingness to help others. He was best known to those who knew him best as a gentle giant. Blair held his Catholic faith close to his heart and was always searching for inner guidance. Blair had many mentors who assisted him throughout his life ad provided friendship and spiritual guidance.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Tourette Society of Canada. In honour of Blair and his giving spirit we ask that those who knew him to simply pay it forward.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Filmore & Whitman, Thursday, Aug. 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, Aug. 29 at 10 p.m. at St. Joseph's Parish in Bras D'or. With Rev. Peter MacLeod officiating. Burial in parish cemetery.
