Lamont, Cecil Ervin – age 86 of Truro passed away at The Mira Longterm Care Facility on August 22, 2014 with his family at his side. He was the son of the late William “Bill” Lamont and Margaret “Peg” Johnson. Cecil retired after 49 years of service with Stanfields Ltd. He was also a member of the Kingdon Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joan (McIntyre); son, Robert “Bob” (Frankie); daughters, Linda (Rick) Murray, Carolea (Art) Terfry; grandson, Richard (Kim) Keizer; step-grandchildren, Peter (Cathy), Shelly (Wayne) Crowe, Arthur Terfry, Randy Terfry, Glen (Sarah) Terfry; great-grandchildren, Mychal (Brandon), Bailee, Mya, Cassidy; sister, Shirley MacMillian, P.E.I.; step-mother, Annie Lamont; half brothers, Jim (Pat), Francis (Diane), Harry (Betty); half-sister, Elly (Dale) Suttis; numerous nieces and nephews. Remembered by a special friend, Elizabeth Raymond. He was predeceased by sisters, Lois Smith, Mary Lamont; half sister Maria Higgins; son-in-law, John Keizer; grandson, Michael Keizer. There will be no funeral or visitation by request. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, August 26 from 2-4 pm at The Mira. No flowers by request. Donations in his memory may be made to The Mira Recreation Department or the Alzheimer’s Society of N.S. Interment on Wednesday, August 27 at 11:00 am in Bible Hill Cemetery.
