Philip Dunphy, beloved husband of Amber Dunphy (nee Manley) of Airdrie, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the age of 60 years. Loving husband, father, and grandfather. Originally from Freshwater, NL, Phil and his wife Amber lived their life together in St. John's, NL and Airdrie, AB. Philip had many friends in Alberta, as in Newfoundland. He was an active Drag Racer in Newfoundland for many years and will be greatly missed by his fellow car enthusiasts. Philip was loved by all who knew him. He was known to make everyone laugh and will forever be missed. Philip is survived by his wife Amber; his children Sean (Christina) Dunphy, Marlaina Dunphy, along with their mother Mary Anne Ennis; Amber's daughters, Amanda (Matthew), Tiffany (Jonathan) and Kayla (Colin); his numerous adored grandchildren, Paul, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Kristen, Haileigh, Paiten, Jacob, Ella and Bailey; his brother Con Dunphy (Elaine), their family Patrick (Jen) and Matthew (Janessa); his sister Rosanna Dunphy; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins of the Manning and Dunphy families, in particular his Uncle Cyril Manning. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary (nee Manning) Dunphy and his father-in-law Robert Manley. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Barrett's Funeral Homes, Mount Pearl Chapel (73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl, Newfoundland) on Friday, August 29, 2014 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Graveside Services will be held at Most Holy Rosary Cemetery, Freshwater, Placentia, NL on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Philip Dunphy, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, AIRDRIE, AB.
