
Murray Allen Hill
At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on August 27, 2014, Murray Allen Hill, of Charlottetown, passed away, formerly of Panmure Island, P.E.I. and Toronto, ON. Beloved husband and best friend of Brenda (nee James) Brindell.
Predeceased by his first wife, Gail Freeman, and their infant son, Paul. Survived by their son, Scott, Toronto, ON.
Born in Toronto, ON, on May 26, 1937 he was the son of the late Lloyd and Dorothy Hill. Also predeceased by his brothers, Gerry and Donald, and his sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Norman Kivell. Sadly missed by his special sister-in-law, Lynda Puma-Penrose, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews in Ontario.
Murray spent many happy years working, golfing and gardening on P.E.I. He especially loved their home and gardens on Panmure Island, as well as his best pals Gary and Sunday, Bob and Marsha, Ron and Lottie, Dan and Doreen and his golfing buddies Tony and Dana. Murray was devoted to his beloved pets Tom, Little Grey and Mia.
Murray loved to read extensively and upon retirement he developed a passion for painting, which he shared with his special grandniece, and art student, Samantha Emily Brothers of Calgary, AB, and her mother Corinne Brothers of Wolfville, N.S.
Murray will also be sadly missed by his wife’s nieces and nephews, Valerie, Roger, Irving, Bonnie, Alex, Herman, Tracey, Lana, Jeremy, Brian, Terry, Debbie, Cheryl, Barry, Blaine, Darlene, Shirley, Perry, Patricia, Corinne, Melanie, Ronnie, Byron, Elizabeth and many grandnieces and nephews.
Sadly missed by his P.E.I family of sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Sanderson, Freda and Heber Stewart, Ward and Hattie James, Margaret James, Vera and Fred Murphy, Mabel Brothers, Bruce and Marilyn James, Lottie and Ron Driscoll, Albert and Stephanie James.
Predeceased by brothers-in-law, Reg Brothers, Wallace James and Lewis Sanderson. Murray was also predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Emily James.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place with a memorial service to be announced at a later date. There will be no funeral or visiting hours by personal request.
