The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, August 29, 2014, of John Emile Gallant, devoted and beloved husband of Gaylene (nee Gallant), of Charlottetown and formerly of Oyster Bed Bridge, age 74.
John Emile was the loving father of Shawla and Trent (deceased). He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Joseph O. (Linda), Alyre (Debbie), Marion Gauthier, Rita Younker (Ralph) and Dorothy MacPhail; sisters-in-law, Margaret Gallant, Wanda Gallant and Dianne Collins (Paul); brothers-in-law, Robert Kelly and David Gallant (Willa); mother-in-law, Elsie Gallant; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his son, Trent in 2009; his parents, Emile and Ida (Gauthier) Gallant; brothers, Vernon, Lawrence, Levi and Art; his sister, Rose Marie Kelly; his brother-in-law, Kenneth Gauthier; and his father-in-law, Aubin J. Gallant.
Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Sunday, August 31, 2014, from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, South Rustico, on Monday, September 1, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Augustine's Cemetery. Due to severe allergies, please refrain from wearing scented products.
