NORMA (BALDWIN) MCNEIL
The death of our loving mother and "nannie", Norma (Baldwin) McNeil of New Victoria on July 4, 2014, has left a void in the lives of our families. We miss her dearly. However, amidst our grief, we have gained comfort and strength from the kindness and concern that many people have shown our families. The visits, calls, cards, messages, meals and memorial donations from our extended families, relatives, our friends, neighbours and colleagues have meant so much to us in these difficult days. We are truly grateful. The many health care providers at the New Waterford Consolidated and Cape Breton Regional Hospitals deserve thanks. As well, the compassionate, generous professionals from VON and Palliative Care made it possible for mom to continue to stay at home during her illness. They were unconditional in providing their time and a caring touch to help mom. Thank you to V.J. McGillivray Funeral Homes, Basil Sr., Basil Jr. and Kenny provided a dignified, compassionate and family centered approach which respected mom's wishes and provided us all with additional comfort. The guidance and leadership of the parish choir, soloist Marilyn Langlois, our family and friends who participated in the funeral mass and the St. Leonard CWL during the reception is greatly appreciated. Thank you also to our friend Father Paul MacGillivary for his support, prayers and leading the celebration of mom's life. The funeral was a reflection of the respect and the love that many had for our mother. There were friends and relatives who travelled long distances to be with us and we are grateful. To the many who also made time to attend the funeral and reception, your efforts did not go unnoticed. It made a difference in helping us remember Mom and in celebrating her life. Thank you.
