CROMWELL, DOROTHY - Surrounded by her loving family, Dorothy Mildred Cromwell passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 1, 2014. Born 1918 in Saint John she was the daughter of the late J. Wesley and Bertha (Hope) O’Blenis. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Gilbert L.W. Cromwell; son Noel Cromwell; sister Frances Brookins; brothers Harley O’Blenis, Kenneth O’Blenis and George O’Blenis. Dot had worked for Sears, Mail Order, and Purchasing Department at The Old General Hospital then the Saint John Regional Hospital until her retirement. She loved her gardens, going to yard sales, auctions and Bingo. She loved spending time with her family with lots of laughs and great food. She is survived by her son David Cromwell (Bernice); daughter Debra Allaby (Tom); daughter-in-law Mary Jean Cromwell; grandchildren Andrew Cromwell (Melanie), Jason Cromwell (Cheri), Matthew Cromwell (Mandy), Philip Cromwell (Kerri), Michelle Kaine (Bob) and Morgan Palmer; great-grandchildren Alex (Betty), Sam, Will, Thomas, Noah, Mekhi, Hailey, Dawson and Adreya; great-great-granddaughter Sydnee; dear nephew Wayne Brookins (Bernice); brothers-in-law Corey Cromwell (Donna) and Donnie Cromwell (Pat); several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, visitations will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
