Passed peacefully away, after a brief illness, at the Leonard A. Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit, in the presence of her family on Monday, September 1, 2014, Madge Smith (nee Gillam) aged 78 years. Predeceased by her husband William T. Smith; parents: Stanley and Estella Gillam; infant son Kirk; brother Lawrence and sisters: Lillian and Ruby. Leaving to mourn her children: Brian Collins (Shelly Martin), Danette Collins (Peter Johnson), Peter Collins (Deanne Pierson) and stepdaughter Elizabeth Butt (Fred); grandchildren: A.J., Kyran and Nigel Collins, Nora Johnson, William Butt, Andrew, Jennifer and Jason Quigley; sisters: Eileen MacDonald (Elroy), Greta Farrell (Jim); and a large circle of family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service to be held from St. Thomas' Anglican Church, Military Road on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Field of Honor.
