It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother at the Palliative Care Unit LA Miller Centre surrounded by all of his family on Wednesday September 3, 2014 at 86 years of age. Predeceased by his son Arthur in 2009. Left to mourn, his wife of 65 years Rita (Lundrigan), children Diane Collins, Sharon (George Follett), Rosalind (Jim Robertson), April Stead (Monty Dyke), Neil Jr. (Judy), Lisa Rowe, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and sister Judy (Ed Lear). Also a large number of friends and relatives. Retired as Head of Security at the Avalon Mall and former employee of F.J. Wadden & Sons Ltd. Special thanks to Palliative Care Unit nurses (his angels), Dr. Jonathan Greenland, Dr. Bruce Doulton, Dr. David Gough, Dr. Doug Taylor, Dr. Doug Drover and a special thank you to Nurse Suzy Power at the Cancer Clinic for all her attention and concern throughout Dad's illness. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home 329 Freshwater Rd from 7-9pm Thursday September 4, 2-4pm and 7-9pm Friday September 5 and 12-2pm Saturday September 6. Funeral service from The Carnell Memorial Chapel on Saturday September 6, 2014 at 2 pm. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery Kenmount Rd.
