Arthur Dunphy
DUNPHY, ARTHUR VICTOR - With great sadness that the family of Arthur Victor Dunphy announce his passing which occurred on September 6, 2014 in Miramichi, NB. He was surrounded by members of his family. Arthur was survived by his wife Dorothy (Bamford) Dunphy, daughter Brenda Lytle, sons Victor and Alvin, and Barry Simmons, along with eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Victor and Myrtle Dunphy, his daughter Cynthia Farrell and his brother Alvin. Mr. Dunphy was born in Upper Blackville, NB on May 14, 1916. He was a retired business man, a member of the Upper Blackville United Baptist Church, a church organist, avid pilot and a World War Two Veteran. Arthur received the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service overseas.
Arrangements are in the care of Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Highway, Miramichi, NB. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 9th from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. The funeral will be held at Davidson’s Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, September 10th, at 2pm. A committal service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Upper Blackville United Baptist Church or the Canadian Bible Society are suggested.
