It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of our dear son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, Matthew Goode on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, at home.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of Paul and Maureen (Reid) Goode.
He graduated from Sydney Academy and went on to complete his welding training.
Matthew enjoyed playing the guitar, hanging out with friends at parties, spending time in Boularderie and fishing. He loved life.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Paul and Maureen; sister, Jenna Goode; brothers, Adam (Stephanie) Goode and Paul Goode, all of Sydney; grandparents, Faye and Byron Goode, and Sheila Murphy, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandfather, David Reid, great-grandparents, Ada and Chester Goode, Florence and Ernest Tingley, Vernon and Hannah Murphy, Annie and Hubert Reid.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment to follow in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
