Cecil Graham Hawkins 'Cec', 86, of Dartmouth, N.S., passed away peacefully on Sept. 10, 2014, surrounded by his children.
Born in Sydney, Cape Breton, Cecil was the youngest son of Bessie (Moore) and Walter Hawkins.
Cecil’s career for 37 years was with the Maritime Telephone & Telegraph Company as a manager in Kentville, Bridgewater and finally settling in Dartmouth in 1961. Retiring at a young age of 55, Cec enjoyed being in his workshop and was an avid woodworker; Cecil always enjoyed a song and a dance.
He is survived by son, Graham (Vicki); daughter, Debra (Ken); grandson, Nicholson and many more extended family.
Cecil was predeceased by his wife and soul mate of 63 years Frances L. Hawkins (MacLeod) in February 2014.
The last member of his family, Cecil was predeceased by brother Russell, sisters, Vivian and Myrtle.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Atlantic Funeral Homes, 771 Main St., Dartmouth on Cecil and Fran’s 64th wedding anniversary; Sept. 15, 2014 at 1:30-3:30 p.m. Interment to follow in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
