The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, December 27, 2008, of Frances Lucy Beaton (nee Heckbert) of Bedeque, P.E.I., aged 84 years. Frances was born on March 23, 1924, in Summerside, P.E.I., to her late parents, Harry and Iva (nee Currie) Heckbert. Beloved wife of the late James Beaton and loving mother of Harry of Bedeque, Brian (Brenda) of Bedeque, Wayne (Margo) of Alberta and Earl of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister Jean Hughes of Charlottetown, P.E.I. Besides her husband and her parents, Frances was predeceased by her brothers Earl, Harry and Lloyd Heckbert and her sister Irene Bryanton, her brothers-in-law Willard Bryanton and Henry Hughes and her sisters-in-law Bea, Peggy, Ruth and Alice Heckbert. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Tuesday, Dec. 30, for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in People’s Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Frances’ memory to the Summerside Boys and Girls Club or the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
