GUITARD, JOSEPH “JOE” ZOEL - With heavy hearts, the family of Joseph Z. Guitard announce his peaceful passing on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Saint John February 15, 1939, he is the son of the late Henry and Mary Guitard and loving husband of nearly 30 years to Sharyn (Mannett) Guitard. Early in his career, Joe was a long haul trucker. He worked next at the Saint John Dry Dock and then finally retired as a Shuttle Bus Driver for the Fundy Trail, a job he absolutely loved. He was an active member of the St. Martins Legion and the Lions’ Club for several years before moving into the city. He really enjoyed selling Christmas trees and birthday calendars for the Lions’ Club and he had a passion for old, classic, western movies. In his younger days, Joe liked to hunt and fish. He was a loving husband and son, as well as a kind and caring, father, step-father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be missed by many family members and friends. Along with his parents, Joe was predeceased by a brother and his brother-in-law.
Arrangements entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). At Joes’ request, there will be no visiting or funeral.
