NEGUS, LAWRENCE - Lawrence B. Negus passed away on September 13, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on April 5, 1920 in Riverglade he was a son of the late Garfield and Ada (Prosser) Negus. Lawrence was a member of Local Loyal Orange Lodge, and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 69 and a Past Grand Master of the Black Knights of Ireland. He was an adherent of the Fundamental Baptist Church. Lawrence was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He service with the New Brunswick Rangers during World War II. Surviving are his companion, Carol Segec; sons, Wayne (Patricia), St. George; James (Linda), Robert (Barbara) and Gerald (Karen) all of Saint John; daughters Lois (Darryl) Johnson, St. Catherine’s and Colleen (Brian) Johnson, Clarendon; 11 grandchildren, 12, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Lorna; sister, Lillian; brothers Gerald, John and Charlie.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, West Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Tuesday, September 16 and Wednesday, September 17 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM with a Royal Canadian Legion at 7 PM on Tuesday. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Lorneville Cemetery.
