We regret to announce the passing of Elizabeth Jean Dooley, on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2014, at the Northside General Hospital, North Sydney.
Born in Sydney Mines on Feb. 7, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha (Pyke) Cousins.
She was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, and a former member of the choir. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She leaves behind to mourn her son Kevin (Debbie) Boutilier; stepsons, Ron (Cathy) Dooley and John ‘Tony’ Dooley; grandchildren, Rick Boutilier, Dan Boutilier, Melissa Boutilier, Brad Boutilier and Erin Boutilier; her adopted grandchildren, Tara Burke and Brittany Reardon and great-grandchildren, Alia Grace Boutilier and Emery James Thomas Boutilier. Also left to mourn are her sisters Marjorie Foote and Dorothy Boutilier, and brothers, Reuben Cousins and John Cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Vince Boutilier, her second husband Patrick Dooley, her son Danny Boutilier, daughter-in-law Donna Boutilier, sisters, Helen (Stanley) Bailey, Lucy (John) Tremblett and Lorraine (Colin) Fortune, and brothers, James Cousins, Charles Cousins, Warren Cousins and Leroy Cousins.
There will be no visitation. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at 2 p.m. in Trinity Anglican Church, Queen Street, Sydney Mines, with Rev. Stacey LeMoine officiating. The burial will be in Tobin Road Cemetery. After the burial, a reception will take place in Grandy Hall.
