Passed away suddenly in St. John's on September 10, 2014. Left with memories of his life are his ex-wife Shirley (nee Gullage), New Brunswick; daughter Kim (Doug Williams), Nova Scotia; son Ken (Darcy), British Columbia; five grandchildren; step-sister Pat (Tom Pilgrim) of St. John's. Predeceased by his father, William Furlong; mother, Lillian George, sister Ruth (Furlong) Panzer and brother Tommy. Howard struggled with persistent mental illness which robbed him of his spirit and profoundly affected his life and living. Thank you to all within the Mental Health Program of Eastern Health who supported and cared for him for so long, with special thanks to Dale Rendell and family. May he now rest in peace.
