MAY TAYLOR
May Taylor née Macleod passed away in the Rosetown Hospital on September
11, 2014. May was born on the family farm 10 miles south of Webb, Sk. on
May 11, 1915. She spent most of the first 30 years of her life on the
family farm where she acquired her passion for plants and animals. She
loved horses, dogs and cats. May worked for neighbours and then in the
war years (1939-1945), she drove a six horse outfit in the fields and
hauled grain to the elevators with a team. She worked briefly in Regina.
In 1947 she married Don Taylor and they took up residence in Swift
Current where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a homemaker
until her husband's untimely death on September 11, 1961. May then worked
for 20 years for the Swift Current Health Region. Her last 15 years were
lived happily and independently at Pioneer Manor where she prided herself
in tending the flower patch. May is survived by her son Tom
(Heather); daughter Velma Persson (Brian); grandson Carl (Faye) and their
children Quinton, Abbagale and Kaiden; grandson Ben (Jamie) and their son
Ellis; granddaughter Janis Haddleton (Nick); sister Peggy Mika (John);
sister-in-law Phyllis Taylor and nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by husband, Don; parents Jim and Elsie Macleod; in-laws
William and Mabel Taylor; brother Jock Macleod; sister Jean Paquin;
brothers-in-law Harold and Gordon Taylor and Paul Paquin; sisters-in-law
Marj Taylor and Alice Macleod; nephews Fraser Macleod, Barry Paquin and
Don Taylor. According to May`s wishes there will be no service.
