It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Susan Elizabeth Rooney. She battled cancer with all the energy she could muster, but in the end, the cancer prevailed.
Susan is survived by her husband Vin Kirkwood, children Laurence Rooney and Stephanie Rooney, son-in-law Alain Constantin, daughter-in-law Jamey Tozer, brother Peter Scott, sister-in-law Jackie Scott, grandsons Sam Rooney and Liam Constantin and granddaughter Madeline Smith.
Susan was predeceased by her mother and father John Arnold and Victoria Arnold and her first husband, Kevin Rooney.
Susan had a special place in her heart for children. She worked in many capacities with children at risk, particularly autistic citizens, for which her work was acclaimed in the Delta school system. In her personal life she had a large network of friends. She was a truly social person. After retirement she took up knitting and would knit with true passion. She enjoyed road trips with her husband and family. She was also an avid gardener and would spend much of her time looking after her plants.
