It is with great sadness that the family of the late Genevieve Abbott announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Friday, September 19th, 2014 at the age of 78 years. Leaving to mourn are her special niece, Sandra McCarthy (Paul) in Port au Port, special great-nephews Jeremy, Michael and Adam, three sisters: Ellen in Boswarlos, Florence in Port au Port, Geraldine in Mississauga, Ontario, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Selina and Seymour Abbott, brothers Raymond, Harold and Gordon and special nephew Lonnie. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Monday, September 22, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Russell’s Funeral Home Chapel at 11am with cremation to follow. Inurnment will take place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery on Berry Head, Port au Port on Wednesday, September 24th, 2014 at 2 pm.
