KENNEY, Everett Lendall – age 89, of Yarmouth, NS passed away on September 26, 2014 at home with his family by his side. Born November 4, 1924 in Clarks Harbour he was the son of the late Alton and Cornelia (Swim) Kenney. Everett worked with Lands and Forests in Wawa, Ontario and the Department of Transportation in Goose Bay, Labrador, both as a radio operator and with Air Canada and Air Nova until retirement. After retirement he loved working in the garden, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. To those that knew him he was known to be quiet and reserved yet independent and hardworking. Everett is survived by daughters, Grace Marginson, Yarmouth; Linda (Wayne) Shediac, Wellington; brother, Ashford, Shelburne; half brothers, Herbert, Ontario; Alton, Cape Island; half-sister, Ruth Watt, Barrington; grandchildren, Daniel (Angela), Kenneth, Gloria Marginson (Jamie Doucet), Ernest, David, Kate-lynn, Waylin Shediac; great grandchildren, Maya Marginson, Tobey Doucette, Abigail Doucette, Matteas Marginson. Besides his parents Everett was predeceased by his loving wife, Christina (Richmond); stepmother, Edith (Jones) Kenney; great grandchild, Robin Marginson; sister, Julia Perry; brothers, Gerald (Joyce) Kenney, Blanchard (Marion) Kenney, and Lawrence Jones. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Monday, September 29, 2014 from 3 – 3:30 p.m. from Holy Trinity Anglican Church. A funeral service was held Monday, September 29, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Rev. Helen Chandler officiated. Interment followed in Chegoggin Cemetery.
