Cecily Mary Gallant

The death occurred peacefully, with family at her side at the Prince Edward Home, Charlottetown, on Saturday, January 3, 2009, of Cecily Gallant, formerly of Rustico, age 92. Cecily was the beloved wife of the late Camille Gallant and the late Augustine Arsenault. She was the loving mother of Camilla Arsenault, Allan (Jeanette) Arsenault, Estelle Gerritsen, Arthur (Roma) Arsenault, Alyre (Mona) Arsenault and Hilda MacDonald; the grandmother of Michael (Caroline) Arsenault, Arlene (Dwayne) MacQuarrie, and Amanda Arsenault (Eric Mendes); Mark and Scott (Rebecca) Gerritsen; Dean (Carla) Arsenault, Arlen (Dawn) Arsenault, Jennifer (Harold) Phillips and Stephen (Selena) Arsenault; Andy (Maude) Arsenault, Dale (Kim) Arsenault and Lisa Arsenault; and Darryl (Amanda) MacDonald and Chris MacDonald (Marsha MacLeod); and great-grandmother of 12. Cecily is also survived by her sister, Corina Arsenault and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husbands, Augustine Arsenault and Camille Gallant, she was predeceased by her sister, Antoinette Gallant; her brother-in-law, Alyre Arsenault; and her two sons-in-law, Sam MacDonald and Tony Gerritsen. Visitation was held at St. Monica’s Chapel Sunday. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Rustico, on Monday, January 5, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. Interment at a later date in St. Augustine’s Church Cemetery. Due to severe allergies please refrain from wearing scented products. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Cecily’s memory to the Sister Cecile Buote Mission would be appreciated.
