FINCK, SHIRLEY MARY - Shirley Mary Finck, 79, of Moncton, with loving family members at her side, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Saturday, October 4, 2014, following a courageous 15 year battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Melanson) Finck. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister and attended St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church. Shirley will be sadly missed by her children, Roderick Comeau (Shannon) of BC, Rhoda Cormier (Danny) of Moncton, Gary Comeau (Michelle) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Linda Comeau-Anderson (Richard), Tina Speranza (Sandro), both of Moncton and Susan Bourgoin (Chris) of Red Deer, AB; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Amanda, Cameron, Guiliano, Keiona, Venesa, Logan and Megan; great-grandchildren, Jayden and Asher; special companion, Stephen Morin; brother, Thomas Finck (Ann) of Moncton; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Guy Comeau (1993) and grandson, Shaun (1991). The family would like to thank the Oncology Clinic, Dr. Woodlock and Dialysis Clinic, Dr. Dorval and staff members for the excellent compassion and care given to Shirley.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and on Tuesday from 9:00 to 9:25 am. Funeral Service at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 9:30 am with Father Denis Belliveau officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
