TREW, ELVA - With love and adoration, the family of Elva Trew announce that she has entered the kingdom of Heaven. She left this life after a long battle with Alzheimer's, peacefully surrounded by loved ones at her home on Thursday, October 2, 2014 just shy of her 85th birthday. Elva Audrey Trew (nee Coates) was the first born of six children October 26, 1929 to Velma and Leslie at Coates Mills, New Brunswick. Elva was predeceased by her beloved husband Jim, her son Billy, her daughter Colleen, her mother and father Velma and Leslie, her mother and father-in-law Bea and Abou, her brother-in-law John and her sisters-in-law Jean and Bertha. Elva leaves to mourn eight children and their spouses — Harold (Lorraine), Ivadelle (Barry Cassidy), Marilyn, Janet (Lamont Caouette), Sheila (Randy Hieb), Marjorie (Frank Poirier), Larry (Fredel) and Kevin (Brandie), 21 grandchildren —Darla, Bryce, Amanda (Rob), Lori, Mike (Marlene), Colleen, Brett, Jamie, Scott (Ashley), Trent (Karen), Tatyana, Andrew (Jess), Renee, Erica, Emilie, Luc, Albert, At Ella, Emily and Catherine, six great-grandchildren Amanda, Jessica, Rachael, Adam, Carson and Jace, Elva's brothers John (Shirley), Ron (Barb), Jerry (Donna), Laurence (Linda) and sister Ruth (George), Jim's sister Ivadelle (Joe) and brother Pat (Marian) as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements will be made by Coventry Funeral Services of Nipawin. The service will be held Wednesday, October 8 at 2 pm at Carrot River United Church. Private interment of the ashes will be done at a later time. Memorial donations may be made to Nipawin and District Special Olympics or Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan.
