Entered into rest at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, with the love and support of his loving family, of Vernon Ralph Hudson of Alberton, age 92 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Beloved huband of the late Thelma (nee Nickerson) Hudson. Born at Cascumpec on April 29, 1922, he was the son of the late Brenton and Helen (nee MacLennan) Hudson. Loving father to Dale of Cascumpec and Valerie (Brett) MacDonald of Moncton. Cherished grandfather to: Jeff (Heidi) Hudson of Mill River; Jodi (Marty) Getson of Mill River; Joel (Brandi) of Charlottetown; Jason (Tracey) MacDonald of Moncton; and Kristy Grennan of Charlottetown. Caring great-grandfather to: Ella, Colby, Jayla, Connor, Lexi, Brady, Cole, Cash and Noah. Dear brother to Ted (Jean) of Cascumpec; Arthur (late Lillian) of Cascumpec; Leita (Gordon) Leard of Summerside, Jean (late John) Murphy of Edmonton; Bernice (late Tom) Donnelly of Moncton. He was predeceased by siblings: Jim (late Essey), Everett (late Lois), Velma (late Garth) Harrison, Ernest (late Gloria) and Sue Warren. He is also survived by a brother-in-law Gerald Warren. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and friends. Vernon was a faithful member of the Elmsdale Church of the Nazarene and worked for may years with the Dept. of Agriculture until his retirement. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Thursday afternoon from the Elmsdale Church of the Nazarene for funeral service at 2:30 p.m., Pastor Sheila McCrea MacCallum and Pastor Betty Zeta officiating. Interment in the Cascumpec United Church Cemetery.
