STAIRS, LEOTA - Leota (Sears) Stairs, 87, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, PEI. Born May 18, 1927 in Yarmouth, NS she was the daughter of Leslie and Ethel (Sollows) Sears. One of Leota's joys of her life was serving alongside her husband Arnold in pastoral ministry for 35 years and 13 years with Christian Blind Mission. Leota is survived by her loving husband of 66 years Arnold; two children: Rev. Reid (Rev. Bonnie) Stairs of Dartmouth and Rev. Nadine (Rev. David) Filsinger of Charlottetown; five grandchildren: Jeremiah (Minis) Stairs, Tarka Stairs, Charity Stairs, Ryan (Jennifer) Filsinger, Reanne (Greg) Krauss, twelve great-grandchildren and her brother Wayne (Erma) Sears. Leota was predeceased by her parents and brother Stanley Sears.
Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Friday, October 10 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, followed by the funeral at 2 pm with Rev. Reid Stairs and Rev. Nadine Filsinger officiating. Interment to follow at Havelock Wesleyan Church, Havelock, N.B.
