WHITENECT, NORMA E. - Norma E. Whitenect, 89, of Peoples Park Tower, Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Born in Montreal, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Irene (Traynor) Huxsel. Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Riverview and a long time active member of the ACW. In past years, Norma was active in the Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary, the Willing Workers of St. George’s Anglican Church and was an active participant in Charlie’s Angels Round Dance and Hoban’s Heroes Square Dance Clubs. She was an honorary life time member of the Moncton Lawn Bowling Club and was an active bridge player with several bridge clubs. She enjoyed socializing with her friends and spending precious time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Norma will be sadly missed by her husband of over 66 years, Fred E. Whitenect; her children, Brian of China, Steven (Diane) of Fredericton, Robert (Judy) of Grimsby, ON, Debra Tower (Gerald) of Dartmouth, NS, Cheryl Perry (Maurice LeBlanc) of Riverview and Barbara Whitenect (Colombe) of Fredericton; precious grandchildren, Matthew Whitenect (Kristen), Andrew Perry (Laura), Abigail Hoeflaak (Bill), Patricia-Lynn Sullivan (Ryan), Christopher Perry (Bronwyn), Noah Whitenect, Amanda Pidberezny (Mark), Ashley Perry and David Tower; cherished great grandchildren, Cohen, Bridget, Khael, Michael, Benjamin, Jake, Charlotte, Hayden, Jaxon, Chase, Fiona, Ryder, Ethan, Cohen and Declan; sister, Marlene Warren of Montreal. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her great grandson, Rhys.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Woolridge St., Riverview on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 11:00 am with Archdeacon Brent Ham officiating. Reception in the Church Hall following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery.
