Raoul Goguen

GOGUEN, RAOUL L. (1937 - 2014) - It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Raoul Leopold Goguen at The Moncton Hospital following a yearlong battle with cancer. Born in Memramcook, raised on John St. in Moncton, he was the son of the late Edward & Alva (Melanson) Goguen. He is survived by four brothers, Meddy (Therese) Sebright, Ont., Joseph (Joanne) and Normand (Florine) Dieppe, Rodrique (Sandra) St. John by five sisters, Florida (Rock) Dube, Sherbrook, PQ, Lillian (Grant) MacMellon & Mary Wilson both of Moncton, Phyllis (Ron) Perry, Dieppe, Louise (Ken) Gorman, Halifax and brother-in-law George Frizzell. He was predeceased by five brothers, Leonard, Oswald, Zoel, Dollard, and Victor, a sister Pauline Frizzell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Raoul began his career in the harness racing industry at the age of 28 when he moved to the U.S.A. He was honored to work with some of the best stables in the U. S. where he gained his knowledge of how to assess a good horse. This lead him to travel all over the world with horsemen to purchase horses. We are truly grateful to his friends Jonas & Christine Czernyson of Team JC of New Jersey, who gave him the opportunity to share this knowledge and brought home some big winners. He made many friends in the harness racing industry which was apparent this past year when he received many gifts and well wishes from all over the U.S. and Canada.
A service celebrating Raoul’s Life will take place from Cobb's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 1:00 PM with by Rev.
