Bower, Sylvia Augusta-89, of Shelburne and Lower Ohio, passed away peacefully in Roseway Hospital on October 13, 2014. Born in Lower Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lillian (Churchill) Bower. For a number of years Sylvia was superintendent of Sunday School in Lower Ohio. She was a member of the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian National Institute for the Blind, the I.O.D.E, and an active member of the United Church of Canada. She is survived by son, Sam (Pat); daughters, Linda (David) Ferretti; Rita (Ron) Jenkins; Donna (Eric) Ensor, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman Bower; son, Paul; grandson Kevin Ferretti; sister, Hazel Vyse; brothers Horace (Buster),Wendell, Leslie, Thomas, Kenneth, Harold and special friend, John Richardson. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. A private family committal will take place at a later date.
