Philip Courtney
November 16, 1935 – October 20, 2014

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Philip Courtney announces his passing on Monday October 20, at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 78 years. Born at Burnt Islands, Philip was the son of the late Charles and Jane Courtney. He was also predeceased by his brother James and sister Emma Jane. He leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories his wife Charlotte of 41 years. His Children; Clyde (Joyce) Lapoile, Joanne (Bill) Francis Port aux Basques, Gary (Denise) Rose Blanche, Todd (Sandi) Old Perlican NL, grandchildren; Marina, Christopher, Marigold, Gerard, Angie, Martin, Courtney, Blake, Reid, 7 great grandchildren, sisters Catherine (Gerald) Hatcher Rose Blanche, Minnie Hatcher Burnt Islands and a large circle of extended family and many friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday evening from 7-9 PM, Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Friday October 24, 2 PM at St. George's Anglican Church in Burnt Islands, officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Petten, interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers graciously accepted or donations can be made to the charity of one's choice.
