It is with heavy hearts we announce Edward Wayne Hussey, age 63, passed peacefully away on October 28, 2014 after a lengthy illness at St. John's Long Term Care Home. Predeceased by his parents Edward (Ted) Hussey and Cavell Hussey. Left with cherished memories are his sons: Allan (Calgary) and Mark (St. John's); his sisters: Lillian (Dave) Hookey and Brenda (Dave) Lucas; brother, Freeman (Margaret); his many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Wayne was a loving father and devoted teacher; a gentle soul who faced his illness with courage and dignity, and showed gratitude to all who cared for him. A sincere thank you to all doctors, nurses and other staff for their kind and compassionate care. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 29th, from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Thursday, October 30th, and from 10 a.m. - 12 noon Friday, October 31st. Funeral service will take place on Friday, October 31st, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel with Cremation to follow. Inurnment to take place at a later date.
