Peacefully at the age of 87 years on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Village by the Station in Penticton, BC with her family by her side. Dear wife of the late Robert E. Evans (1996), mother of Phyllis (James Price), Maxine (Dwight Taylor), Bernice (Darwin Dauncey), Barbara (Daniel Duchene), and Robert (Cathy). Stella was a proud and devoted grandmother of Jill (Chris Ward), Mark, Bethany, Kate, Brittany, Alexander, Meghan, and Rhys, and loving great-grandmother of Grayson, Silas, and Nella. Born in Westport NL in 1927, Stella spent much of her adult life in Corner Brook, NL where she and Robert raised their five children. Stella was predeceased by her parents, siblings Maxwell, Eliza, Francis, Phoebe, Lovetta, Samuel, William, Elizabeth, Evelyn, and Pearl. She is survived by her much adored brother Stanley and a large circle of relatives and friends. There was nothing Stella loved more than being with family and friends. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, knitting, rug hooking, and music. She had a wonderful sense of humour and a beautiful smile. Even through her dementia, Stella continued to share her wonderful smile and would often give you a wink as if sharing a joke. Stella moved to Penticton in 2009 to live with her loving daughter Maxine and son in law Dwight. For the past two years she has been a resident in Village by the Station.
