It is with great sadness that the family of the late GERTRUDE POWER of Mortier announces her passing at the Blue Crest Home in Grand Bank, on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at the age of 98. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are daughters, Loretta Hartson of Mortier, Ann Critch of Gaskiers, St. Mary’s Bay, Lucy Power of Beaverbank, NS and Ellen Moulton (Wade) of Long Cove, Burin; sons, Thomas Power (Mona) of Miramichi, NB, Joe Power (Beatrice) of Mortier, Paul Power (Alice) of Creston South, Leo Power (Sarah) of Creston South and Jerome Power (Darlene) of Hammond Plains, NS; sister, Rita Power of Mortier; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Power; parents, Thomas & Ellen Power; brother, William; sisters, Theresa & Rose; sons-in-law, Joseph Hartson & Aiden Critch; daughters-in-law, Patricia Power & Lillian Power.

The Mass of Christian Burial took place on Saturday, October 25, at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Burin, at 11:00 a.m. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Fox Cove. In Gertrude’s memory donations may be made to the Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund in Fox Cove or flowers gratefully accepted.
