The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital of Colleen Rose Gass of Charlottetown, on October 29, 2014.
Born November 23, 1930, she was the daughter of George and Marion Power of Prince Edward Island.
She is survived by her sister, Eileen Power (Halifax & Vernon River); her sons, Edward (Tina) and Robert Gass of Toronto, Steven (Kathy) Gass of Connecticut; and daughter, Gail (Dan) Rice of Halifax and St. Peter's Harbour; grandchildren - Jody (David) Rice Gallagher, Christine (Chad) Bower, Halifax, Samantha (Albert) Gass-Rishes, Eden Gass and Tara Braden (New Orleans) and Jessica Gass (Toronto); great-grandchildren - Kyle, Alex, Bridgid, Rowan, Rachel and Evan; and by special nephew, Donal Power of Toronto.
She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Robert, George and Francis Power; sisters, Helen, Marion, Georgina and Margaret-Ann.
She will also be sadly missed by many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to niece Helen Power-Lewis of Elliotvale for her care and comfort these many months. As well, cousin, Linus Gallant for helping with arrangements.
She was a talented painter and keen fisherman, who loved music and nature. Her presence lit up every room. Cremation has taken place.
There will be a memorial service and reception to celebrate her life on Tuesday, November 4, at St. Joachim's Church hall, Vernon River, (2:00-4:30).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
