G. Eileen Shanks
SHANKS, G. EILEEN - 1921-2014 - G. Eileen Shanks, widow of Rev. James Shanks, 92, of Kenneth Spencer memorial Home and formerly of Riverview and Hillsborough went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 30th, 2014, her boys by her side. Eileen was born in Lac Verte, Saskatchewan on November 8, 1921, the daughter of the late Gordon and Grace (Glasspell) Nichol. She was a former employee of the Canadian Sunday School Mission and the Ceylon & India Mission, USA division. She was a member of the Gunningsville Baptist Church and Dominion member of the UBWMU. She was a very faithful lady who lived her life for her Lord. She lived with grace and will be remembered for her kindness and sweet smile. Eileen was a true inspiration and role model for not only her family but for all who knew her. She served beside her husband doing God's work and enjoyed all the times spent in several churches all over the Maritimes. She not only went to the churches with her husband but also got involved in all the programs and helped lead many children to the Lord. She was very proud of her boys and her grandchildren and her family meant the world to her. She would want everyone to know that she is now in Heaven and sends the message of John 3:16 " For God, so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that who so ever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." She will be deeply missed by her two sons, Paul of Moncton and Mark (Tracy) of Riverview; treasured grandchildren, Russell, Justine, Kathleen, Nadine and Cassidie; sister, Rita Arborgast of Saskatchewan ; she will also be deeply missed by several nieces and nephews , her extended families at Spencer Memorial Home and her churches. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Rev. James Shanks(1999) and brother, Howard Nichol
The Funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 2:30pm with Rev. Blair Holden officiating, a time of visitation will be held from 1:30 until the time of service on Sunday. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further fellowship and for refreshments in the funeral home reception area. Interment will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Edgett's Landing, NB. For those who desire, memorials to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by her family.
