Cecil James (Jim) MacGregor passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 28, 2014, due to colon cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Thelma Jean (MacTavish), his daughter Gayle, son Ian (Margaret) and granddaughter Kathleen. He is also survived by three sisters, Ruth Killam of Glendora, California, Phyllis Welsh of Arcadia, California, and Thelma Buckle of Barrie, Ontario, Canada, and by four nieces and four nephews.
His sister Eleanor predeceased him.
He was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada on Aug. 17, 1923, to Mildred (Skinner) and James MacGregor.
Jim served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War as a wireless air gunner. He moved to California in 1946. He worked in the accounting profession for many years and retired in 1985 as president of Servo Products Company.
At his request there will be no services. Cremation has taken place and his remains will be buried in Oakfield Cemetery in Mira, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
