June 18, 1950 - October 14, 2014
On October 14, after a short battle with cancer, Judy left us for a happier place free of pain.
Judy leaves behind husband Ron, sons Lance and Darren (Carrie), Lena, grandsons Nolan and Nathan, brothers John and Bill, sisters Helen, June, Nancy and Rose, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Judy was born in Radville, Sask on June 18, 1950. She moved with her family to Sechelt in 1968, where she married Ron and raised their sons. She spent many hours volunteering at the boys' schools as well as Boy Scouts, Junior Forest Wardens and anywhere else she was needed. She spent hours playing games and entertaining our grandsons and their friends after school.
Judy's skill with needle and thread was well known and she leaves behind many works of art for friends and family. She was a member of the embroiderers' Association of Canada and Suncoast Needle Arts Guild. She taught many classes, trying to pass on her considerable skills.
There will be a celebration of Judy's life in the future. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Cancer Foundation.
We would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and other health care professionals involved with Judy's care. A heartfelt thank you. And thanks to family and friends who were always there offering help and support. You made it possible for Judy to remain at home, which was so important to her.
