It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Rhea (Woodfine) MacKinnon, on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, at home, with her lifelong love, Angus, by her side.
Born in Sydney Mines on Sept. 21, 1954, Rhea was the daughter of Bernard Woodfine and the late Anna ( Woodfine) MacLean.
Rhea was a member of the Tuesday Night Ladies Happy Club, the Sydney Mines Seniors and Pensioners Club, and the mixed dart league.
She leaves behind to mourn her loving husband Angus; children, Jimmy (Mary, Emma and Jacob), Sydney, Shaun (Krystal), North Sydney, and Kevin (Brittany), Sydney Mines; her sweet grandchildren, Brayden and Isaac, whom she adored with all her heart; her sisters, Brenda (Gary) Miller, Sydney Mines, Tammy (Richie) MacLean, Ontario; her brothers, John (Stephanie) Woodfine, Sydney Mines, George (Kristoff) Woodfine, Ft. McMurray, and David MacLean, Sydney Mines; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother Anna (Woodfine) MacLean and a very special aunt, Janet Gerrow.
Visitation for Rhea MacKinnon will be held on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. A celebration of her life will take place Saturday at 1 p.m. in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Thomas John officiating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery. There will be a reception at the Sydney Mines Seniors and Pensioners Club, following the service.
