SORENSEN, Jason Aaron, 41years, passed away peacefully at home holding hands with his loving wife Rozalind (Brons) Sorensen on Thursday, November 6, 2014. He was born on August 01, 1973 in Springhill, Nova Scotia, and was the beloved son of the late Hans Axel Sorensen and Barbara (Lynch) Sorensen-Fife. Jason proudly served as a member of the RCMP in Shelburne, Nova Scotia for many years. Through his community leadership Jason met his wife, Rozalind, while volunteering on the medical team at the 2011 Canada Winter Games. Their beautiful and enduring friendship lit up his entire world. They were married at the RCMP Depot, Regina, Saskatchewan on September 20, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. Jason was kind, affectionate, and gave selflessly to others. He was an exemplary community volunteer, giving many hours of service to the Riverview, NB Fire Department, NS Ground Search and Rescue, RCMP Auxillary, and the Canadian Ski Patrol. His resilience and strength of character inspired us all. Jason gave his incredible gift of friendship throughout his lifetime, and his wealth of friends understood it was one of his most beautiful qualities. Jason will be forever loved by all his family. The Sorensen/Fife family: Malcolm Fife, Bernadette Carter, Jack Sorensen, Mark Sorensen, Robert Fife, Ronda Fife, Carla Sorensen and Tena Marie McGinn. The Brons family: Ursula and Elwin Brons, Virgil, Carly, Mason and Maria Brons; Cecette (Brons), Peter, Hannah, Maisey, and Gavin Rhodes; Jocelyn Laewetz, and Adrienne Schenk. The Stacey family: Garnet, Andrea, Allex, Colin and Eric. A celebration of his life was held on Sunday, November 9 at the Shelburne Community Centre with Chaplain Glen Matheson officiating. The family interment service will be at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Academy, Depot Division, Regina, SK on November 15, 2014. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society, Nova Scotia.
