MACDONALD, WINDSOR C. - Windsor C. MacDonald, 90, of Moncton, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, November 13, 2014 after a brief illness.Born in Bayside, he was the son of the late Clay and Effie (MacLean) MacDonald.
Win was a WWII Veteran, landing on D-Day with the North Shore Regiment. He loved to travel and was fortunate enough to return to France and Holland in his later years. He cherished his time spent with his family and always had a sparkle in his eye when little ones were around. Over the years he enjoyed bowling, playing darts, softball and cards. Win will be sadly missed by his daughters, Ann Cormier, Pat Ross (Reg) and Ann Buck (Peter) all of Moncton; son, Greg Harrison (Anna) of Kamloops, BC; grandchildren, Martha, Lisa, Shelly, Ryan, Sarah, Katie, Andrew, Christopher, Christina, Clayton and Jeffery; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Len of London, ON, Jim (Shirley) and Junior (Margie), both of Miramichi; sisters, Mona Bryanton of Summerside, PE and Ponsy Dickson (Carl) of Miramichi; special nephew, Ted Harrison; several nieces and nephews; special family friend, Francis Lake. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Gallant) MacDonald (2005); brothers, Al, Byron, Mark and Ray; sisters, Sem, Effie, Fay and Verna; and son-in-law, Art Cormier.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Parish Prayers and Sharing of Memories at 8:30 pm. Funeral Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church (Fatima Dr., Riverview) on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Phil Mulligan officiating. Reception in the Church Hall following the Mass. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In Win’s memory, donations to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital would be appreciated.
