Died peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, in her 61st year. Florence lost her short but courageous battle with cancer.
She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Jeffrey C Yhard. Loving mother of Shari (Charles) Taylor of Saskatchewan, son Matthew Yhard of Kingston and beloved Nanny to Nicholas Yhard also of Kingston.
She will be dearly missed by her father, Allan H. MacLean of Sydney, N.S., sister Gloria (Ed) Gardynik of Sydney, N.S., Catherine (Jim) O'Rourke of Sydney, N.S., brother John MacLean and sister-in-law Judith Rolls also of Sydney, N.S.
She was predeceased by her mother Rhoda A. MacLean (nee MacKay).
She will also be greatly missed by all her nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.
At Florence's request, in lieu of visitation and burial services, there will be a short remembrance service for her at S.t Peters Anglican Church, 4333
Bath Rd. on Thursday Nov. 20, 2014, at 11 a.m. A light lunch will be served in the church hall following the service. Friends and family are invited to attend. Her ashes will be taken home to Lime Hill, Cape Breton, N.S. to rest beside her mother.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Florence's name.
A special thank you to Reverend Micheal Michielin whose spiritual guidance provided much calm to Florence in her time of need.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to Dr. Robinson, Dr. Ashworth, Dr. Goldie and Dr. Wonnacott as well as all the nurses and staff of Connell 3 at Kingston General Hospital.
