At Western Hospital, Alberton, on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, of Norman Allan Halliday of Mill River East, formerly of British Columbia, aged 66, beloved husband of Hazel (nee Pringle). Norman was a retired fire captain with thirty years of service at the University of British Columbia. Norman was born on May 4, 1942, at Kimberley, B.C., son of the late Creelman and Marguerite (Moss) Halliday. Norman is also survived by a son Mark, B.C., brother Murray, Vancouver, sister, Kathleen Thompson, Vancouver, sister-in-law, Jean Turvey, Port Colborne, Ont., brother-in-law, Donald Pringle, Port Williams, N.S. Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary. At Norman’s request there will be no visiting hours or service. A private family remembrance will be held at a later date. If so desired memorials to the Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
