First of all a child of God
Your heart to him was true.
And Then in life a lady,
a lady through and through.
A heart of gold you shared with all
No matter friend or foe
Your love you shared unselfishly
Wherever you would go.
But then your life it faultered.
your special one took ill.
You prayed for him and cared for him,
his shoes no one could fill.
And when in God’s own timing,
He took your love away.
It left you lone and pining
In grief and in dismay.
Your prayers though soon were answered
for in God you placed your trust.
He took away the loneliness
and sadness turned to dust.
When soon He came to take you home
while angels’ sang you there
And in God’s arms you rest and smile,
A precious soul so rare.
