DOUCETTE-OWLES, Georgine Marie – 72, Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born October 9, 1942 in Wedgeport, she was a daughter of the late Albeni and Adeline (Fitzgerald) Pothier. Georgine was a baker and a homemaker, having also worked as a fish processor. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She is survived by her children, Gwen (Pierre) Doucette, Hubbard’s Point; Jeff (Bev) Doucette, Charlene (Joe) Doucette, Michelle (Terry) Fitzgerald and Kevin Doucette, all of Wedgeport; grandchildren, Sandra, Allan, Matthew, Holly, Cody, Jessica, Natasha, Melonie and Graydon; great grandchildren, Braydon, Hazen, Hailee, Jacqueline, Zavier, Fallon and Sophia. Also surviving are sisters, Anna Frotten, Sylvia Jacquard, Roseanne Hewson, Betty Cottreau, as well as a brother, Louis Pothier. She will also be missed by her dog, Bailey. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Mike Doucette, as well as by a son, Peter Doucette; a grandson, Michael Doucette; sisters, Theresa Pothier, Lena Haley; brothers, Wilfred, John, Edmond and Ben Pothier, as well as by three siblings in infancy. Visitation took place from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Wedgeport. The funeral mass was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 27 from Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Father Albeni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Michael’s Cemetery Fund or to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund.
