Passed peacefully away at Glenbrook Lodge, St John's on November 23, 2014, NELLIE JANE BARNES, of Garnish, at the age of 96.

She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas & Evangeline Marsh; sisters, Ivy and Amelia; brother, Allan; daughter, Mabel and first husband, George Newport.

Leaving to mourn husband, Isaac Barnes; children, Bill (Gertie), Georgia (Enos), Cliff (Glenys) Anne (Eric), Kay (Jim) ,Una (Marcel), Charles (Susan), Ruby (Garry) and a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters Sylvia Thornhill and Carrie (Hubley Grandy), sister in law, Nina Marsh.

Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Meadowcreek Retirement Centre and Glenbrook Lodge for your care and friendship. She loved you all.

The funeral service took place at the United Church in Garnish, on Wednesday, November 26th, at 10:00 a.m. In Nellie’s memory flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to Garnish United Church Cemetery Fund, P.O, Box 160, Garnish, NL A0E 1T0.
