Pauline Armstrong

ARMSTRONG, PAULINE (DuPLESSIS) - Born September 12, 1921 - Died November 23, 2014 - Peacefully at home. Pauline was a Registered Nurse who was a graduate of St. John General Hospital in New Brunswick. She joined the Royal Canadian Medical Corps in 1941 as a Nursing Sister and served in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. She was assigned to #22 Canadian Military Hospital in Bramshot, England during D-Day until she volunteered to go to France in July, 1944 where she served with #16 Casualty Clearing Station until the end of the war. Pauline married June 20, 1945 in Bloomendaal, Holland in a PPCLI regimental wedding. In 1946, she and her husband, Doug settled in Vancouver, B.C. and the west until 1973 when they moved to St. Catharines, Ontario. They have resided in Toronto since 2012. She is survived by her loving husband Doug, children; Doug Jr., Dale and Patricia as well as her grandchildren; Brian, David, Faye, Robyn, Ryan and Alexander and one great-grandson, Hunter. Sincere gratitude to Dr. Sue Somerville and Dr. Adam Zoudis for their compassionate care.
A private family funeral to take place at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, Toronto.
