The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, November 30, 2014, of Veronica Agnes (Smith) Milligan of Foxley River, in her 103rd year, wife of the late Douglas Milligan. Born in Woodbrook, P.E.I., on March 21, 1912, daughter of the late William and Johanna (Lynch) Smith. Dear mother to Joan Doran, Northam; Floyd Milligan, Eugene (Aldona), all of Foxley River; Gerald (Bridget), Alberton; Fenton (Natalie), Beaverbank, N.S.; Anita (Ralph) Murray, Summerside; Marvin (Elaine), Upper Tantallon, N.S.; Donald (Colleen), Ellerslie; and Jeanette (Kevin) Duffy, Dartmouth, N.S. Lovingly remembered by 34 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, Veronica was predeceased by her grandchildren Darcy Milligan, Jonathan Duffy, Michael Doran; great-great-grandchild Nash Doran; son-in-law Joseph Doran; sisters Mary Bulger, Margaret Kelly, Catherine DeYoung, and Alice English, and by brothers Gregory, James, and George Smith. Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O'Leary, with visiting hours on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 5-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, Dec. 3, until 9:45 a.m., then to St. Brigid's Roman Catholic Church, Foxley River, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. St. Brigid's CWL will be holding a prayer service at the funeral chapel at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. In memory of Veronica, donations to St. Brigid's Cemetery Fund or Canadian Hemophilia Society, P.E.I. Chapter, would be appreciated.
