Passed peacefully Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Dr. John M Gillis Memorial Lodge of John Havenga of Earnscliffe, age 89 years.
Beloved husband of the late Gerbrig Van Der Beck and loving father of Doug Havenga (Cynde). John will also be remembered by his daughter-in-law Laurie MacDonald (Bruce), grandsons - Jeff Havenga (Grace), Matthew Havenga (Dan), Brent MacDonald, granddaughter- Brianna MacDonald, special granddaughter - Emiley Newbury and brother Wiegar Havenga (Yelsie). He was predeceased by his son Austin, brothers - Klaas, Henry and sisters - Pietje, Clara, Sjoerdtje, Siedske, Francine, Tina.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford with visitation Friday, December 5 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 6 at Stratford Chapel Hillsboro Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Andrew’s United Church Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations made to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated. Completion of funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home.
