
Vivian Lorean Butler (nee Hopkins)

It is with great sadness the family of Vivian Lorean Butler announce her passing in her 87th year on Thursday, December 4th, 2014. Predeceased by her loving husband Robert (Bob) Brinton Butler on October 26, 2008. Leaving to celebrate her life and legacy are her loving children: Roma (David Chin) and grandchildren Julianna (James Kato), Susanna (Chris Ward), and Michael of Delta, British Columbia; and son John (Jean Andrews) and grandchildren Deanna (Sean Simmons), Mark (Deidre Vincent) and David (Hilary Warren) of St. John's. Also many nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren Aaren and Daniel Kato and Catherine Simmons as well as many friends she and Bob made across Canada and the USA during their many travels. Predeceased by her parents John Hopkins (1958) and Agatha Organ (1948), brother William (1977), and sister Sylvia Mudge. Vivian was a wonderful, loving wife and mother with many artistic talents which she demonstrated in numerous ways from painting and weaving to stained glass creations in her latter years. The family would like to thank the staff of Tiffany Towers and most recently St. Luke's Homes for their exceptional, compassionate care and friendship over the last six years. Cremation has taken place and the family will be receiving visitors at Carnell's Funeral Home 329 Freshwater Road on Sunday December 7, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held at The Carnell Memorial Chapel for family and close friends on Monday, December 8th at 11:00am with inurnment at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road. Flowers are graciously declined but donations in Vivian's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Canada or a charity of one's choice.
