CAROL L. CAIRNS

CAROL L. CAIRNS

May 12, 1955 - December 1, 2014
The Sunshine Coast lost a little a little warmth and sunshine on the morning of December 1.
Born in Montreal, the first of four sisters, Carol traveled the world via her father's career. The family nested in England, Switzerland, the US and southern Ontario before Carol broke off on her own and spread her wings to the Sunshine Coast some 30 years or more ago.
She ran Cafe Pierrot along with husband Ben Levy for many years until venturing off on her own but not before producing a loving group of kids: Alex, Graham, and Emma Gerwing. She eventually met and married Roger Gaboury.
A few of her passions included running with her Bypass Boot camp friends, Henderson beach on a summer day, the writer's festival where she and Alex frothed up lattes, and knitting at home on a Saturday night watching Heartbeat.
She is predeceased by her parents Monique and Jim Cairns of West Vancouver.
Carol is survived by her sisters Marian from West Vancouver, Michelle from Penticton, and Sue from Cranbrook, daughters Alex and Emma of Vancouver, and son Graham from Roberts Creek along with a plethora of nephews and nieces.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 14th at the Roberts Creek Hall at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Elves Club in her name. A receptacle will be provided at the hall.
